Guide

How to choose an access control system.

An access control system is an investment that should last fifteen years — and grow with the property. The right choice is about credentials, approvals, integration and administration, not the logo on the reader.

The needs

What you should consider

How many doors — today and in five years?
The number of doors and sites determines the architecture: a stand-alone solution for single doors, or server-based with central administration for growing portfolios.
Who should get in — and when?
Residents, staff, contractors and visitors: access groups, schedules and temporary passes should mirror the organisation — not the other way around.
Approval requirements?
Systems integrated with intrusion alarms may need to meet alarm grades and SSF standards — requiring approved equipment and certified installation.
Integration with other systems?
Intrusion alarm, door entry, booking, lifts and building systems — the right platform coordinates instead of creating islands.
Wired, wireless or both?
Wireless door environments cut installation costs in existing buildings; wired offers maximum reliability where it matters. It often ends up a combination.
Who will administer it?
In-house management in a web interface, delegated administration per association or department — or a managed service from us. Choose the level that fits your organisation.

System overview

Systems we work with

A selection of the platforms we design, install and maintain — with each system's market strength.

RCO
Integrated access + alarm • Housing & commercial • Multi-site

Swedish platform with access, door entry, booking and integrated alarm in one system — strong position in both apartment buildings and commercial properties.

ASSA ABLOY ARX
Wireless with Aperio • Flexible • Large ecosystem

Flexible platform with the market's widest wireless door range — bringing in doors that would otherwise never get access control.

Omnis 2010
Integrated • Access + alarm • Approved installations

Integrated platform for access and alarm in the same installation — chosen where requirements demand an approved coordinated solution.

Axema VAKA
Fully networked • Web administration • Robust

IP-based system administered directly in the browser — easy commissioning and management without local servers.

Enterprise platforms
Lenel • Pro-Watch • Genetec • C•CURE • Gallagher • Pacom

We handle design, installation and commissioning of global enterprise platforms for corporations and international integrators — to the group's standard and documentation.

Other & legacy systems
Service • Troubleshooting • Migration

Access systems live long — often longer than the manufacturer's support. We service, troubleshoot and plan controlled replacements even for older generations.

Bewator (older generations)

A large installed base in Sweden — we service, troubleshoot and plan migration to a modern platform.

Aptus (older generations)

Common in apartment buildings with door entry and booking — we manage it until replacement is planned.

RCO R-CARD 5000 / older M5

Older RCO generations are often upgraded step by step to today's platform — without replacing everything at once.

ASSA (older access systems)

Older ASSA generations are serviced and migrated to ARX where justified.

Cotag

A contactless classic where readers and controllers are ageing — we manage and replace in stages.

Siemens SiPass (older)

Serviced and kept running — or migrated when the life cycle requires it.

TAC/Schneider (access)

Found in buildings with integrated automation — we keep the access part running and propose a way forward.

Kaba/dormakaba (older)

We handle service and gradual replacements in older Kaba environments.
