How an intrusion alarm is built.

An intrusion alarm is a chain where every link has a task — from the detector that discovers to the monitoring centre that acts. Here we walk through the parts and how they work together.

The protection model

Three layers of protection

A well-designed installation is built in layers: the more valuable the assets, the more layers an intruder must pass — and the earlier the intrusion is detected.

Perimeter protection
Magnetic contacts, glass-break and vibration detectors on doors, windows and facade — alarming before anyone is inside.
Volume protection
PIR and dual-technology detectors watching rooms and areas — catching movement regardless of the way in.
Point protection
Targeted protection of specific assets: vaults, server rooms, display cases or individual machines.
Active protection
Fog generators, inferno sounders and strobes that interrupt a burglary in progress — the time to steal disappears.
The chain

From detection to response

Every alarm follows the same path through the system — and every step must be dimensioned for the chain to hold.

1. The detector detects
A detector reacts — perimeter, volume or point protection — and sends the signal to the control panel.
2. The control panel evaluates
Based on zones, arming state and delays, the panel decides whether the event should alarm, and powers the installation with battery backup during outages.
3. Alarm devices activate
Sirens, strobes — and fog when needed — activate locally to deter and mark the event.
4. The transmitter delivers
Supervised transmission over IP with GSM/4G as backup path sends the event encrypted to the monitoring centre — an outage on the way triggers an alarm in itself.
5. The monitoring centre responds
The operator follows your response plan: verifies, contacts your key holders and dispatches guards or police.
6. The event is documented
Everything is logged — evidence for investigation, insurance and your systematic security work.
The requirements

Alarm grades according to SSF 130

Insurance companies often require an alarm grade (1–4) based on the business and its assets. The grade governs everything: detector coverage, tamper protection, alarm transmission and who may install. We design for the right grade from the start — as certified intrusion-alarm engineers we make sure the installation also passes inspection.
